Teodora Alonzo was born on November 9, 1827 .
Teodora Alonzo was born in Meisik, Tondo, Manila.She was the wife of Rizal Mercado, who is living on biñan, Laguna. There children where paciano, Saturnina, Narcisa, Olimpia, Lucia, Maria, Concepcion, Josefa, Trinidad, Soledad, and our great hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.She was the first teacher of our national hero.
He studied in the college of Santa Rosa and learned how to speak Spanish.
Dr. Jose Rizal was only 11 years old when the Spaniards get mad to his father.Because of this ,the Spaniards get rid of her mother.The Spaniards forced her mother to walk from calamba to Sta. Cruz Laguna. But this was not enough, when she arrived sta. Cruz Ms. Teodora Alonzo was accused a wrong thing that is not true so this was the cause to let her go to jail without trial. This was the start of Jose Rizal’s anger.
When Americans conquered the Philippines They offer her pension so it can help in her oldness but she didn't accept it and she said: Our family are giving their lives to the mother earth because of heroism and not because of money.
She died on the year of 1911.
